I think if anything had happened, it would have been posted here. I fruitlessly check the forums far too often to no avail .
MMO's usually have a massive development time anyway. Admittedly using the Multiverse engine means a lot of the code is already in place, but still, I'd like to see a well polished game at the end. It could take years... |
Yes, even the appointment of a developer should have warranted a press release of some kind. All this time after the acquiring of the license, nothing. It doesn't bode well.
I had a look at some of the stuff being developed for MV a little while ago, and tbh I asn't that impressed. Nothing I saw that I would pay for. If the FF game ever does go ahead (which I seriously doubt, tbh), I hope a lot of work is done from where MV is now.
If you consider the games that FF will have to compete with, the Warhammer stuff on the way, Eve Online, even SW:G, along with the other big name fantasy based games, how do we percive the likelihood of this game now as an investment for a dev/publisher considering that the series/film didn't do as well as a lot of browncoats would like to think?
I really hope it does, but to me, being realistic the balance of proababilty suggest that it won't. _________________ This is my sig. Honestly.
Good isn't it. |

it doesn't have to compete with any other MMOs simply because of the IP.
everybody who loves FF will at least give it a try and if done right there's no need for fancy/shmansy graphics and stuff..
all it will compete with is the existin' card/text based FF games that are not all that great TBO. |

Personaly if they dont release news on the game soon they need to withdrawl from the license so that a developer that is seriouse about doing a Firefly MMO can get the license. I am starting to think MV is just a bad company just like perpetual entertainment. I wonder how many of their investors they scamed. |

There's a rumour of a development company doing just that, hopefully will push the license right out of their hands. Guess we'll see. _________________ The beatings will continue until morale improves. |
