Back Story

Altrusia is a large island in the northern realms of Elmunas. Sundered by a great mountain range, it is divided, conquered and perfectly built for conflict. In the southern half of the island, the Erus build great cities that dominate the landscape. North of the mountains, the Endaar create citadels and cities that brace the intense weather.

On the frosted battlefields, armies clash. Control is everthing. Altrusia is a forgotten island, the gods divided it for war, the people have risen to the challange.

Geography

Altrusia is an intersting island with many geographical features, such as forests and smaller islands off the coast. It is split in two by a large mountain range, dividing the island horizontally. This division shows the frontline of the battle between the Erus and the Endaar.

Factions

Politically, Altrusia has four factions. The Tundraborn roam the Bitterchill Tundra as nomads, although many have settled in Bitterchill city. The Erus are civilised people who inhabit the south of the island, and fight in a largescale war with the Endaar, those that inhabit the north. There are also a forest dwelling faction that live in a peninsula to the south-east of the island.

Players can choose to join one of these factions, but they will have no statistical bearing, merely giving various benefits and limitations that come from citizenship with each faction. Once a character has been created, it is difficult, but not impossible to change the factional alignment.

Gameplay

Altrusia seeks to be different by making everything dyanmic. All quests can only be completed once, and while many are generated according to specific variables that take worldstate into consideration, a lot of quests will be created on the fly by the developers, post-release.

This allows for the world to remain dyamic. Killing a monster will mean that that monster will not ever exist again, although it is possible for two monsters to "spawn" another one. Thus, it is possible to destroy an entire species. Running a dungeon will mean that that dungeon is empty until something decides to take it as its home.

The dyamic nature of Altrusia will mean the world will never get stale, and because nothing is set in stone, changes will mean the world is shaped as the players want it.

Project Nature

Altrusia is a side project for Turmoil Online Entertainment, and is not in full-time development.
