What is it?

Colony 105

Colony 105 or C-105 is a massive multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) project currently in development using the Multiverse game engine from the Multiverse Network. The game takes place in a solar system where the two major planets, Argos and Kallana are locked into a cold war. You play as a rookie pilot who must help explore and defend his world from utter and complete annihilation. All while completing missions, gaining wealth, upgrading ships, weapons and levels. So choose your side and prepare for battle!

How it started

It's kinda funny, one day me (Cody) and a friend just started talking about how cool it would be to make a space based MMORPG. The next day at school I just grabbed some paper and started planning. Then we decided we were going to make this game so we started looking for an engine. About a month later we had planned most of the basics, thats when I found Multiverse. At the time I was worried because no one I knew could do the advansed C++ coding needed to make an MMORPG but Multiverse solved that.

The basic idea

The basic game idea was to make an MMORPG that combined on-ground elements with a flying element. The player would be able to land on a planet, explore, fight, mine, etc then take off and return home, engage in a dog fight with another player or keep on exploring. Then land, get some rest and take off again.

The map & some per-game info

The map is very important, its the first thing I made when planning the game. The solar system that you play in has three main planets: Argos, Kallana, and Woden. Very recently a war erupted between Kallana and Argos. After Kallana demanded exclusive access to the mines on Woden, Argos fired a laser through the middle of Kallana destroying an entire city in the process. After that Kallana built its own laser, now the planets are locked into a cold war.

Your role

You play as a rookie pilot who must help explore and defend his world from utter and complete annihilation. But thats the tip of the iceberg. In this MMORPG you will spend most of your time doing tasks to gain experience or get money for bigger and better ships and parts. Bigger ships mean more and more |337 n00b ownage, which we all know and love. Also there are many planned quests to complete around the game to unlock new items and ships.
