Platform Requirements
The minimum requirements for the Multiverse tools are the same as for the Multiverse Client:
- Operating System: Windows
- Processor: Pentium 4 with 1GHz or greater
- RAM: 512 MB+
- Video: DirectX 9 compatible Video Card. Pixel shader 2.0 and vertex shader compatible hardware with 128 MB of texture memory
- Audio: DirectSound compatible sound card
Download and Installation
To download the tools, you must first register on the Multiverse website. After registering and logging in, download them from the developer download page. To install the tools, simply run the installation program, which will walk you through the process.
NOTE - If you have previously installed the Multiverse Tools, uninstall the previous version before reinstalling.
NOTE - As of version 1.5, if you try to install the tools on Linux under Wine, after the installer finishes 'downloading required files' it will die with the error: 'MultiverseTools-1.5Update1-1.5.3139.25826.msi' has either changed since it was initially published or may be corrupt. Click OK to retry the download or Cancel to exit setup. Trying again repeats that error or gives 'publisher cannot be verified' errors for the DirectX cab(s). Trying to run the tools under Mono after copying them from a Windows system also gives errors -- all but the Mosaic Creator and Asset Packager fail to run, and the Mosaic Creator crashes when you load a file. In short: The tools are Windows-only (for now).
