Multiverse:Deletion policy
From Multiverse
The Multiverse Developer Wiki deletion policy describes how to identify and remove from the wiki material that does not meet the relevant content criteria.
Deleting an article removes the current version and all previous versions from view. Unlike "page blanking", which any user can perform (or revert), only administartors can delete pages. Administrators can also view deleted pages and reverse ("undelete") any deletion. All such actions are logged.

Alternatives to deletion
Editing
If the page is salvageable, then edit rather than delete it. Use any of the following templates to assist in this process:
- For articles that are actively being written, use the "Draft" template:
{{Draft}}If the article remains largely unfinished for more than a week or two, then change to the "WIP" template. These articles do not require categorization, since they should either be completed or moved to "WIP" status within a couple of weeks. - For articles that are incomplete, use the "Work In Progress" template:
{{WIP}}Add such articles to the "Unfinished articles" category. - For articles that need specific technical review questions answered, use the "ReviewNote" template:
{{ReviewNote}}
Add such articles to the category "Articles needing review" category
Moving / Renaming
If an article has an incorrect name, simply move / rename it instead of deleting it.
Merging
If an article is short and duplicates content in a larger article, you may be able to merge it into the other article. To create a redirect, put
#REDIRECT [[pagename]]
at the top of the page, where pagename is the name of the target page. The page will not redirect if there is anything on the page before the redirect. Also, there must be no spaces between the # and the REDIRECT. Extra text after the #REDIRECT command and link is ignored.
Discussion
If there is any question about whether a page should be deleted, use the Talk page to achieve consensus.
Deprecation
Do not delete a page simply because it documents an old outdated release. In general, retain documentation for old releases, and add the "Deprecated" template at the top of the page:
{{Deprecated}}
NOTE: Documentation for pre-1.0 (alpha and beta) releases may be deleted at some point to avoid any possible confusion. Other post-1.0 documentation may be subject to deletion at some point in the future, if they appear to cause confusion and are clearly not being used by anyone. Until such a time, please retain all articles relevant to old releases.
Reasons for deletion
Reasons for deletion include:
- Copyright infringement. See Terms of Use.
- Advertising, spam, or other inappropriate content not relevant to Multiverse development.
- Outdated, incorrect, or irrelevant content that will never be useful.
NOTE: The Team Profiles page and individual team profile pages may contain links, promotional text, and other "advertising-like" content that is not subject to deletion. If anyone egregiously abuses this privilege, the admins may warn the offending users, edit the page, or delete it as a last resort. Such action would be preceded by discussion on the forums and/or the relevant Talk page.
