The Multiverse Platform Tutorial is a comprehensive introduction to the Multiverse Platform. It walks you through the entire process of installing and configuring the servers, Multiverse Client, and tools, and all the steps you need to get started developing your own gameworld on the Multiverse platform.

Before you start, download the Platform Tutorial File Package containing 3dsMax, world files, and so on.

  1. Getting Started - Downloading and installing the client, server, and tools. Running the sample world to verify your installation.
  2. Building World Terrain - Using Terrain Generator to create a simple gameworld.
  3. Adding Objects to Your World - Using World Editor to add objects to your world.
  4. Trying Out Your World - Running your gameworld on the servers and entering it with the client.
  5. Importing Static Models - Creating static models with 3ds Max, adding collision volumes and attachment points, exporting and converting to Multiverse format, and viewing the models with the Model Viewer tool.
  6. Adding Custom Assets to Your World - Adding your assets to your world with World Editor, and then distributing them with your gameworld.
  7. Importing Animated Models - Creating animated models with 3ds Max, exporting and converting to Multiverse format.
  8. Editing Material Files - How to edit material files created by the Multiverse Conversion tool to achieve specific effects.
  9. Defining Mobs - Scripting mobs on the server.
  10. Defining Items - Scripting items on the server.
  11. Defining Quests - Scripting quests on the server.
  12. Creating Player Characters - Modifying the default player character (avatar).
