Summary
The Multiverse Client and tools require a DirectX 9 compatible graphics card that supports pixel and vertex shader 2.0. The video card should have at least 128 MB of texture memory, preferably 256MB.
If you are experiencing crashes or errors running the client or tools, insufficient graphics hardware may be the root cause.
Tested graphics cards
These graphics cards have been tested and are known to work with the Multiverse Client:
- NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT
- NVIDIA GeForce 6800
- NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400
- NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 (Laptop Mobility Driver 7.15.10.9759)

The following GPUs should work, because the manufacturer claims they support DirectX 9, but we haven't tested them.
AMD/ATI
- ATI Radeon R420 / R420 PCIe series
- R520 series (X1300 - X1950)
- Mobility Radeon 9600/9700
- Mobility Radeon X1300 - X1800
NVIDIA
- GeForce FX series
- GeForce 6 series
- GeForce 7 series
- GeForce Go 7 series
Unsupported graphics cards
The following graphics cards are known not to work with the Multiverse Client:
- NVIDIA GeForce MX440
- NVIDIA GeForce2 MX400
NOTE: The Client and tools do not currently run on Intel 9xx series integrated graphics cards due to a DirectX issue. The problem is related to loading certain models. We are investigating this issue with Intel tech support.
