Q: When will ToL be released?

A: There is no planned release date at this point. Alpha testing should start 6-12 months after the Multiverse platform is released. -Oculus

Q: Key Feature - "A dynamic item-quest system allowing players to bond with their equipment and shape legendary items through questing"

Can you explain this concept a little more? Will a personal weapon develop much like a character would and gain abilities over time based on the desires of the owner?

A: Weapons ( and other important equipment ) will have powers that the owner can unlock. The requirements for unlocking a power will be different. Some might require the owner to invest some of the XP he earns, others that the owner completes a quest tied to the weapon.

Some weapons are tied to the lore and their powers allready decided upon but a crafted weapon can be shaped by its owner. Lets say a warrior uses his crafted weapon to slay orcs over a period of time, at some point, the warrior will be informed that his weapon has a power that can be unlocked. Using the orc slaying warrior as an example, the power might be increassed damage aganist orcs and require the warrior to slay a "boss" orc in order to unlock the power.

The number of powers a weapon will have depends on its history and importance in the world. The longbow of the Dragon Slaying Elf King might hold several powers, requiring the owner to both complete a series of quests tied to the lore of the Elf King and increase in rank to unlock them all, while a simple bow, which has never been used in battle or been wielded by a legendary person, won't have any powers. That's not to say that someone can't use the simple bow and turn it into a very powerful bow over time. -Oculus

Q: Will the these personalized weapons be something that can be traded?

A: The bond is between the player and the weapon ( and other items ). They can be traded but the new owner will have to unlock the powers from scratch. A player might buy a newly crafted, very powerful sword and shape its powers through use and then trade or lose it in battle. A potential new owner would then have to follow in the previous owners footsteps and learn the history of the weapon and it previous owner, in order to unlock its powers.

In short; once a weapon has a new owner, the mechanics are the same as for items that are put in the world as part of the lore, as the longbow of the Dragon Slaying Elf for example. -Oculus
